We want to help you customize your car, including everything from engine performance, handling, to aesthetic modifications.

We're car enthusiasts who love modding cars, racing, and car culture. With so many products on the market, we've had trouble deciding what parts to buy at times and researching how the parts and brands are different. We want to solve that, so anyone interested in modifying their car can do so and pick the right parts with ease. We hope our guides are helpful, and we wish you luck in your car modding journey!

Sam Williamson

Hi, I'm Sam! After struggling to find the information I need to modify my cars in a convenient place online, I decided to do something about it. I decided to create ThinkTuning to help other people mod their cars more easily. I daily drive a Subaru WRX, but own some other cars as well, and am always up for working on friends' cars, and helping them decide what parts to buy.

My name's Aaron, and I write for ThinkTuning! I've been friends with Sam for years, and we love working on cars together, so it just made perfect sense for me to help out with this site. Right now I daily drive a Nissan 370Z, but I've owned Subarus and other Nissans, none of them left stock.

How ThinkTuning Picks Our Top Products

ThinkTuning combines our own personal experience with reviews and the experience of people around the Internet. While we'd love to be able to personally try every product, this isn't possible with how many options there are for aftermarket performance parts.

We research our recommended car mods and other products in a number of ways:

  • Personal experience - some products on the site have been personally purchased tested by ThinkTuning staff
  • User reviews - we gather comments and ratings from people with first-hand experience from various retailers and forums
  • Expert reviews - we consider in-depth reviews from well-known sources strongly when writing our recommendations
  • Popularity - we consider which items are selling the best on various retailers since it's likely for a good reason
  • Company reputation - we consider whether the manufacturer is well-known within car communities and how they're perceived

We can't personally test every product, but we believe our research strategy will give visitors the best and most complete information when choosing which item is right for them.
