While the Subaru BRZ, Scion FR-S, and Toyota 86 may have a decent enough interior, most people would appreciate some extra little comforts or just some personalization.
Luckily, like with most cars aimed towards enthusiasts, there's a huge selection of aftermarket upgrades and accessories available, including lighting mods, shift knobs, trim pieces, and more.
We've rounded up the best BRZ / FR-S / 86 interior mods, so you can personalize the interior of your car just to your liking.
One of the most affordable mods that really livens up the interior, these cup holder liners from CupHolderHero are one of our very favorites. The kit includes not only liners for your cup holders, as the name suggests, but liners for door pockets and other cubbies. Not only do they look great, but they make cleaning up a breeze.
The fit and appearance of these almost look OEM. They're available with either red or blue piping, or fully black if you prefer. If you're looking for a budget-friendly and easy to install interior mod, then we can't recommend these more.
Billetworks specializes in making some of the best shift knobs you can buy. Each one is machined from a block of aluminum and hand polished. The custom anodized finish is unique with every shift knob that Billetworks makes, and the surface is scratch-resistant. The shift pattern is laser engraved so it will never fade.
If you're looking for a high-quality shift knob that will look new for years to come, we strongly recommend this one from Billetworkz if your car has a manual transmission.

These upper door panels for the Subaru BRZ / Scion FR-S / Toyota 86 are made from real carbon fiber. They look fantastic, and really give the car's interior a more upscale and sporty look.
The panels require no tools to install, and it can be done in less than 5 minutes, even with no experience as a mechanic. These come in a pair, with one for each door.
If you're looking for real carbon fiber parts to add to your interior, we think this is a great place to start.
Another easy way to add some color and style to your Subaru BRZ, Scion FR-S, or Toyota 86's interior, these aluminum AC knob covers install in seconds and look great with their Subaru Technica International branding.
Like many GT86 interior mods, they're available in both red and blue, so you can match them to any other trim pieces you've added. The covers come in a set of three, one for each knob of the AC system. They simply slip over the stock knobs and stay in place from friction, but optionally a piece of double-sided tape can be added.
The stock e-brake handle is a little boring, just made from plastic. This carbon fiber replacement handle is an easy way to improve that. The stock hand brake handle is simply removed, and this one goes on in its place.
The carbon fiber here looks much better than plastic and looks great with other carbon fiber trim in the car. This is one of the most impactful interior mods, with how prominent the e-brake handle is in the center console.
If you're looking for some inexpensive interior mods, here's a small one you can do to add a splash of color to your interior. This aluminum knob cover simply slides over the OEM mirror adjustment knob, and with its tight fit stays in place. It feels much higher quality than the plastic knob, being made from machined aluminum.
This mod is available in either red, blue, or silver. With the low cost, we think everyone should add this to their interior, especially if you've added other aluminum trim parts to match.
If you drive an automatic version of the BRZ, GT86, or FR-S, then this one's just for you. The stock paddle shifters are rather short, and not always so easy to each. These extensions are affixed with the included double-sided tape.
Not only do these paddles give a sportier look but make shifting gears easier. These come in blue, red, silver, and black so you can create whatever theme you want for your interior.
This aluminum hand brake button gives you another chance to replace a cheap-looking OEM plastic part. It comes in four different colors: black, silver, blue, or red, and looks great in all of them.
However, it also adds some extra functionality, allowing you to lock the button in place so it doesn't need to be pressed in. This allows you to disengage or engage the handbrake, locking your rear wheels for drifting.
Even if you don't plan to use this mod for drifting, we think this looks great and is a nice upgrade from the stock button.
This one is for BRZ owners only! Sorry GT86 and FR-S owners, but your emblems are different. These vinyl decals have a carbon-fiber style background with the Subaru stars in red. They simply stick to your stock steering wheel emblem, giving it a more aggressive look.
These aluminum trim rings are easily attached to the air conditioning vents, and really give the interior a more refined look. With the included double-sided adhesive, they attach around the AC vents, and add some extra color that looks great with other similar interior upgrades.
Another great piece of carbon-fiber trim for the BRZ, FR-S, and the Toyota 86. This part is made from real carbon-fiber, not a plastic lookalike. It takes only 5 minutes to install and includes the needed tape. This is an excellent, high-quality looking upgrade for your interior that seems to bring the car into a new class.
Good floor mats are important for any car to keep the carpet looking new for years to come. The Husky Liners floor mats are designed to perfectly contour the curves of the floor. These mats will do a great job of keeping water, mud, and dirt from getting into the carpet, and they're easy to take out and clean, being made of rubber. If you're looking for a floor mat upgrade, then Husky Liners is among the best.
Yet another small carbon-fiber part has made our list. We really think it looks great, especially in a sports car like the GT86, FR-S, or BRZ. This one is made to go over the heated seat controls. Not only does it look a lot better, creating a more flush surface with the rest of the console, but the carbon-fiber adds some sophistication and aggressive looks.
The OEM light bulbs in the BRZ, 86, and FR-S are one of the first things everyone should replace. Their yellowish tinted light looks cheap compared to LED lighting you'd see in higher end cars. Fortunately, there's an easy and inexpensive solution that will make you wonder why the car didn't come this way. This lighting mod replaces the dome light bulb with an LED panel, as well as the light in your truck.
The LED panel gives much more consistent lighting than any replacement LED bulb you'd find at an auto parts store. iJDMToy has created this LED lighting kit to specifically fit in the dome light housing. The whole panel illuminates, which not only looks a lot nicer, but gives better light output.
