1. Identify the car exactly

Record the model year, market, transmission, engine, ECU information, current modifications, fuel type, and existing tune source. A 2015 VA WRX, a 2021 VA WRX, and a 2024 VB WRX should not be assumed to share the same calibration.

2. Return to a known starting point

An intake can change MAF scaling. A turbocharger changes airflow and boost control. Ethanol changes fueling and ignition requirements. A downpipe can affect boost control, emissions behavior, and legal compliance. Parts should be chosen with the calibration path in mind, not installed first and explained to the tuner afterward. 5. Flash carefully

Keep the battery voltage stable, disconnect unnecessary electrical loads, use the correct definition, and do not interrupt a flash. A beginner should not start by changing ignition, fuel, boost, or torque tables on a modified car without a documented process.
